Whew . . . What a week! I can’t thank you enough for joining me during this first week of Elevated Nesting. I appreciate having you all here so much! I’m so happy to be up and running and very excited to grow this site. But, after this launch week, I must admit I’m feeling a bit like this . . .

This project has been in the works for many months. It started as an idea that I kept to myself. Then I bounced it off my husband, then girlfriends, and kept getting great feedback. The more I thought about it and talked about, the more excited I became. I feel like there are so many sites out there that are designed for younger women, but not as many that are specifically geared towards women in midlife.
So the idea grew, and I started to learn about website design. Ummm . . . okay here’s the deal. Women’s Health is my passion and writing is my jam, but the technical aspects of building a website that actually does what I want it to do is an entirely different beast. Additionally, a website needs photos. I’m still learning this craft, and trying to get comfortable with posting photos of myself. I much prefer posting photos of my dog!
I’ve never been a big user of social media, but if my goal is to reach as many women as possible, social media is the way to do it. Let’s just say I still have a lot to learn in that arena. You know I’m a novice when I have to google “what’s a reel”. Then “how to share a reel to my story”. (My children are cringing right now). But, I’m learning . . . everyday . . . more and more.
I’m so happy to have the site up and running. In a way that was like ripping off a band-aid. I tend to be a perfectionist, but I’ve learned through this process that perfectionism is the enemy of productivity. No, I don’t have all the bugs worked out on my website, and my photography has a lot of room for improvement, but in publishing the site I’ve ripped off the bandaid and I’m learning as I go. In fact, Wednesday’s post, “Is it Time to Break Up with your OBGYN?” spent half the day with the entire text running vertically. That was a fun one to fix . . .

So, thank you, in advance for hanging in there with me, as I share the parts that I love – writing about Women’s Health, while – ahem – learning the other parts.
I’ll leave you with this – my family and friends know I’m a devoted Peloton fan. Okay, the term “fan” may be an understatement. I may or may not have imaginary friendships with my favorite instructors . . . but I promise I’m not a stalker! One of my favorite instructors (aka – my “friend” – Jess Simms) says this in nearly all of her classes:

Take that fact into your wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday!
