We had such a great time on our three-week coast-to-coast trip, and now it is so good to be home! It took me a couple of re-entry days to unpack and settle back in, but nothing is better than sleeping in your own bed after a long journey! We came home to snow, snain (snow + rain), then more snow. BUT, I can see warmer weather in the forecast, and I think we’re just a couple of days away from Winter finally releasing us!
For the past three weeks, we’ve been traveling fools – starting in California with Carmel, then Half Moon Bay. Spent about 16 hours at home, then a quick visit in Colorado Springs before jetting off to our final stop on the trip . . a combo Rhode Island and Boston visit.
My parents live in Rhode Island during the summer months, and it’s my favorite place on earth. As an Air Force kid with lots of moving around, this was the place I returned every magical summer. It was full of cousins, summer friends, lots of beach time, and just the most amazing memories. My family has been there for six generations, and it truly feels like it’s in my blood. Rhode Island is my “happy place” that I visualize to calm myself down whenever I’m faced with something hard . . . It’s my touchstone.
It was chilly, the trees were just beginning to bud, and, as always, it was pure magic.
Another reason I love being in Rhode Island . . . when I look at “find my friends” I’m sandwiched between my kids with short drives to see either, instead of a whole country! This makes my heart absurdly happy. ☺️

We were back and forth to Boston to celebrate Clay’s Graduation from Northeastern University. Both of our kids went to college in Boston, and it has been a joy to have a reason to frequently visit one of our favorite cities over the past 10 years.
First, his College of Art, Media & Design ceremony on Wednesday, for his degree in Graphic Design, and THEN . . .

The big University ceremony at Fenway Park on Sunday . . . which was just as awesome as you’d imagine!

We are all so proud of this kid! He is kind, brilliant, so creative, and always keeps us all laughing.
In true Clay form, he made friends with the Jumbotron camera guy, and so he’s had more time on the Fenway Jumbotron than most major leaguers. Seriously, he was up there a LOT! 😂

It was so special having my parents with us in Boston to celebrate Clay!
Happily, Clay plans to stay in Boston for the foreseeable future. He has an awesome group of friends who will be planting themselves there, and I’m so excited for what the future holds for him!

We wrapped up the trip with Clay bringing a couple of his sweet friends to Rhode Island for a quick visit. Then it was time to say goodbye ~ for now ~ and fly back to Colorado.
I’m happy to be home, resuming regularly scheduled programming and writing again. While traveling, I researched some great Health and Wellness topics, and I’m so excited to share more with you this week.
Thank you for kicking off your week with me! It’s good to be home.
