It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these “catch-up” posts! We’ve been keeping busy with a few visitors, a few fun gatherings with neighbors, and a lot of spring cleaning.
Some of our ski resorts have already closed for the season. With most shutting down over the course of the next few weeks – apart from A-Basin (the highest). It sometimes stays open until July . . . with people skiing in shorts on a few strips of what was once snow, but most would consider “icy ribbons of death”.
April and May are referred to as “Mud Season” up here. It’s typically really quiet, with many of the restaurants and shops closing, leaving handwritten “closed for mud season” signs on their doors. It’s also when I typically start getting the most stir-crazy. Winter tries to hang on tight with a few teaser spring-like days sprinkled in. However, so far this spring has been feeling like actual spring. It’s been quite warm, the snow is melting quickly, and at the moment the only moisture in the forecast is rain. Our April Showers usually come in the form of snow, so I’ll believe it when I see it.
What We’ve Been Up To

We had a lovely visit from Emily that included a lot of ski-time . . .
. . . And snuggling with Daisy. 💕

Between ski days, we watched movies, played games, had some fun dinners out, and just soaked up our precious time with our girl.
One of these days, the stars (and schedules) will align, and we’ll get Emily, Joe, and Clay up here at the same time! For now, it’s easier to get us all together when we’re on the East Coast, and thankfully that’s happening a few times in the next couple of months.

Keystone had their closing day last weekend, and everyone turned up for the annual Slush Cup. It was a cold but sunny “Bluebird Day” up here!

For the Slush Cup a bunch of brave kids and lunatic adults take turns skiing or snowboarding down this hill and attempt to skim across these pools of water. Spoiler alert – skiers have more success than boarders. The costumes are awesome, the crowd is raucous, and it’s a super fun way to wrap up the season!
A Quick Recap
On Monday, I wrote about Evidence-Based Herbal Supplements for Menopausal Symptoms. Women are all vastly different in our experience with menopause, but the one thing that remains the same is that we each deserve to thrive and feel our best!

As a nurse, I want to present options that are backed by peer-reviewed studies and provide you with the research to support treatments that may work for you. As always, it is crucial that you partner with your healthcare provider to find safe and effective methods for managing your symptoms. You can read about finding a healthcare provider who meets your needs for this phase of your life here.
Wrapping Up
This weekend we’re keeping things quiet, and dare I say a bit boring. Gareth will likely be watching The Masters all weekend. Snore. I’m sorry – I get that it’s a big deal – but golf on tv with the soft music and whisper-talking puts me to sleep. Hopefully, I can drag him out on a muddy hike to enjoy our unseasonably warm weather!
Like most women, I’m wearing a lot of hats at the moment, and my writing sometimes has to take a back seat. I’m grateful for this understanding community as I ride through this season, and look forward to being more prolific with my posts soon!
Thank you for being here and spending some time with me today! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
