Hello Friday!

Hello Friday!

Happy last day of February, Friends!

Do you live someplace where March 1st ushers in Springtime weather? I most definitely do not. I am coming to terms with the fact that Colorado’s heaviest snow months are typically March and April. And way high up here where we live . . . we can expect snow through May. And let me tell you, by May . . . I am just DONE . . . so my goal will be to change my location for as much of May as possible. I may be hitting some of you up to come sleep on your couch, so be ready!

Okay, I’m done whining about snow . . . for now. Come June, it will all be so very worth it for our spectacular Summer!

What’s Up Around Here?

February has brought us lots of weekend ski visitors, which we love! This house has always been a gathering place for family and friends, so we love it when our guest rooms are full. (Gareth and I can clean and flip a guest suite like seasoned Bed and Breakfast owners). We keep the meals super simple and just enjoy having a house full of friends. It’s one of the biggest reasons we decided to move up here!

Fun houseguests aside, this short month has seemed a bit long. We’ve had two warm beachy trips get canceled this winter, and I just realized the last time I left our little mountain county was in early January . . . on a Wednesday . . . to go to Costco. You know I have cabin fever when I’m excited to go down to Denver to do an airport pick-up on Saturday!

We have Clay coming home tomorrow to visit for a few days! (Hence the added excitement to the aforementioned airport pick up). His college has a super early Spring Break, and he’s bringing a friend home and I’ll get the opportunity to spoil them. We haven’t seen the kids since Christmas, so we are pumped to have him here! We’ll get Emily here at the end of March (yay!), but we’ll miss having Joe (boo!) because he is living that “first-year-associate-at-a-big-law-firm” life.

March will also bring a bit of desperately needed travel for us. If these get canceled, you’ll need to do a wellness check on me. My friend, Veronica (the one we all feel sorry for because she lives in Italy . . . 15 minutes from the beach) pointed out to me that even though I live in an incredible place, sometimes we just need to get away to enjoy that feeling of coming home. So true.

Our Week in Review

This week, we covered a bit of Mental Wellness and a bit of Physical Wellness.

Monday’s post was part Confessional and part Self-Help. The Confessional portion was my realization that i basically forgot that my mantra for this year was “Create a Life you Can’t Wait to Wake Up To”. Yep, I got busy with all the things, and forgot to remind myself of this lovely idea.

On Wednesday, we learned about the missing link between Thyroid function and Menopause.

Wow! Researching this article was eye-opening! I’ve seen a lot of women our age with Thyroid issues, both as a nurse and in my friends, but the statistics are quite staggering.

That’s it for me this week. Friends, as always, thank you for spending a little bit of your time with me this week. I know you’re busy, and the fact that you’re taking time to read and learn with me is so appreciated!

Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday!
